I started fighting my cancer battle in 2014, at the same time that I was seeing my winery dream become a reality.

It is ironic that I have developed a stronger sense of self at the same time that my body has become less strong because of what metastatic breast cancer and the treatments have done to it.

But it's not just the cancer itself that destroys lives.
In addition to facing serious health problems, cancer thrivers must contend with rising medical costs; inadequate insurance coverage; difficulty keeping a normal work schedule; ongoing physical, psychological, and financial struggles that will persist every day if we want to continue to live.  
Today, I am grateful for still being on the journey.
