Meifu, Taiwan, Province of China

Meifu, a former stage II breast cancer patient, is now a beauty educator who has dedicated herself to teaching skincare and makeup at the Hope Foundation for Cancer Care. Beyond sharing beauty tips, she openly shares her cancer journey — the struggles, the fears, and how she learned to embrace her imperfections. Through this, she inspires and encourages fellow cancer survivors, becoming a source of strength and hope for one another.
Meifu’s advice for maintaining physical and mental well-being:
- Connect with nature — Nature has a quiet power to heal and comfort. Walking barefoot on the grass, hugging a tree, or simply feeling the breeze can ease discomfort and remind you that you are alive and part of something bigger.
- Exercise — Find movement that suits your energy level. Whether big or small, exercise can improve quality of life, reduce cancer-related fatigue, strengthen the immune system, and ease anxiety.
- Meditation and quiet time — Create a peaceful space with soft music and the scent of essential oils. Allow yourself to sit in stillness, relax every muscle and nerve, and simply enjoy being with yourself.
In response to World Cancer Day’s theme, “UPSIDE-DOWN,” Meifu chose to share her unique photos with herself in wedding dress:
“I’ve been bald twice in my life — once when I was born, and once when I was reborn after cancer.
So, I took wedding photos as a bald bride to honor my rebirth — a reminder that life can begin again.”
