Erdene-Ochir, Mongolia

My name is Erdene-Ochir M and I’m 57 years old, citizen of Mongolia. For over 20 years, I’ve worked in the mining sector, traveling frequently back and forth. One day, my daughter said to me, “Dad, you should get a check-up at the hospital, I’ve already made an appointment for you.” In March 2023, I was diagnosed with cancer and was referred to the National Cancer Center of Mongolia for further examination.
At the National Cancer Center of Mongolia, I learned that I had multiple tumors. After discussing my condition with my doctor, we decided that a liver transplant surgery was necessary, which I underwent in August 2023. Now, one year and six months have passed since the surgery.
Throughout this entire journey, many medical teams and countless individuals have supported me, working together to help me reach this point in my recovery.
I’ve come to believe that taking responsibility for one’s own health is not only about self-care, but also about fulfilling our duties to our families.
