David, United States

On April 29th 2023 my partner died from Pancreatic Cancer [metastasized]. He was diagnosed on April 4th of the same year.

25 days from diagnosis to death. He was 60. The doctors gave a life expectation that was highly exaggerated. A year, perhaps more.

There wasn't much caregiving I could give except my love and making sure his pain and comfort were paramount.

We had no time to finalize paperwork regarding our financial interests although we did try earnestly. I had arranged for a mobile notary to come on the 29th unbeknownst to me it was his last day.

By the time she arrived he had gone to coma. With that, it destroyed the memory of our home and all the years, the moments of joy and struggle that go with 30 years of love.  I lost him and our home in a moments time.

His family was bigoted against me, and when I received the threats of death that came before and after the funeral, I packed our home and left. Now it's left our life in storage while I care for my sister who lived with us. She has dementia.

Cancer kills so much. For all who are going through this now, bless you. You will need all the strength you can muster.

Be gentle and love...always.
