Person living with cancer
Dana, Canada

I’m a 36 year old active mom who thought I beat the odds after losing my mom to cancer at the age of 3, she was 28 years old.
The average age for diagnosis of CLL is 70 years old. I was diagnosed at 35.
People do not look at me and see sick, most days I don’t feel like I have a cancer diagnosis - like there was some sort of mistake made and my next round of bloodwork will say it’s something else.
I am grateful to be part of the watch and wait club but the constant narrative in my brain, especially with an early diagnosis, is suffocating.
I know my body and my intuition are strong. I feel empowered by the messages my body has sent me and my intuition for that constant nudge that led to diagnosis in October 2024.
