Why donate to World Cancer Day and UICC?

World Cancer Day is a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, sharing knowledge and catalysing personal, collective and government action, we are all working together to reimagine a world where millions of cancer deaths are prevented and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all.

UICC is the only global cancer organisation representing all cancer types, across the continuum of cancer care (prevention, early detection, treatment and palliative care).

Your donation will help improve cancer care through the Union for International Cancer Control’s actions, such as:

  • World Cancer Day reaches millions of people around the globe with for example 900+ activities and events in 127 countries, 500+ million social media impressions and 27,000 press mentions in 159 countries (2024).

  • The vast majority of UICC members confirm that World Cancer Day helps them raise awareness in their region and bring about change for cancer care and control.

  • The UICC's Membership Support Fund facilitates the participation of organisations with limited resources, primarily from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), in UICC's diverse range of programmes and activities. It has supported 261 organisations from 107 countries, many of which have been engaged over several years since its establishment in 2019. By granting them access to valuable member benefits, such as global networking opportunities, skill and knowledge enhancement, and a platform to amplify their voices within the global cancer movement, the Membership Support Fund is crucial in fostering collaboration within the international cancer community.

  • The Patient Group Mentoring programme (PGMP) is designed to support patient-driven organisations that struggle to access opportunities but demonstrate significant growth potential. The programme aims to recognise and engage people with lived experience as essential partners in the cancer community, providing them with tailored assistance to support their ability to make a significant impact within their respective health systems.

UICC is committed to enhancing the meaningful engagement of cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. Recognising the crucial role of patient organisations in representing people with a lived experience and sharing their expertise and experiential knowledge.
