Marilyn Jetty Swim 2025

Details
Like so many others, founding Marilyn and now Cancer Council SA Ambassador, Sarah Tinney, first turned to fundraising for Cancer Council SA in 2006 when she found out that her mother, who lived in the USA, was diagnosed with uterine cancer. From the first day of her mother’s diagnosis, Sarah pledged to help raise money to cure cancer in her honour. And that’s how the Marilyn Jetty Swim was born!
Every February hundreds of bold, brave and fabulous South Australians take part in the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic, swimming or paddling 400 metres around the Brighton Jetty, dressed head to toe as ‘50’s icon Marilyn Monroe!
Since the event first began in 2014, the Marilyn Jetty Swim has raised over $1.3m and in 2025, we anticipate over 700 Marilyns to raise $400,000 to fund vital prevention, research and support programs that help Cancer Council SA reduce the rate and impact of cancer for all South Australians.
