The 5 a day programme held a special session to mark World Cancer Day.
On the morning of 3 February, 25 children were able to learn about healthy eating and its importance in preventing disease.
Through storytelling activities, blind tasting of fruit and juices, making fruit salads, sowing seeds and visiting the market, the children discovered the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, especially those produced locally and seasonally.
This is a joint effort by Mercado Abastecedor de Coimbra, Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Coimbra e Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra. The project "A comer é que a gente se entende" and the "Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro - NRC" collaborated.
