In observance of World Cancer Day 2025, Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) is pleased to announce a special sensitization and awareness event at Regina Pacis College, Abuja, aimed at empowering and educating young girls about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Event Overview:
The theme for this year’s World Cancer Day is "United by Unique," focusing on the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations coming together to make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer. MCF will bring this theme to life through an interactive session designed specifically for 800 young girls at Regina Pacis College.
Objective:
The goal of this event is to:
- Raise awareness about various types of cancers, with a focus on preventable cancers such as cervical cancer and breast cancer.
- Educate students on the importance of healthy habits, self-examinations, and regular medical check-ups in cancer prevention.
- Empower young girls to take control of their health by learning how to protect themselves from cancer risks, including the significance of the HPV vaccine for cervical cancer prevention.
